Steady On Your Feet launches innovative falls prevention platform in Hambleton and Richmondshire
< Back to News

We are excited to announce the launch of our Falls Prevention platform in partnership with Hambleton and Richmondshire NHS Trust. This initiative aims to empower older residents in the Hambleton and Richmondshire areas by providing interactive tools, advice and resources to improve their safety and independence.

The new platform, launched in collaboration with clinical teams and public health practitioners, integrates seamlessly within existing falls pathways in the region to offer a comprehensive, localised solution for falls prevention. Residents of Hambleton and Richmondshire can now access a wealth of resources including personalised fall risk assessments, self-care tools, and detailed guides on home safety improvements.

Across the UK, the NHS, individual NHS Trusts, local authorities, and health organisations are facing an increasing challenge in managing the immediate consequences of falls while implementing a proactive, coordinated, and preventive approach to reducing falls in the future. Existing fall pathways often face challenges regarding early identification, intervention, and continuous management of fall risks. Their reactive nature frequently results in addressing the issue post-incident rather than proactively preventing falls.

The platform's launch marks another shift towards a more preventative, coordinated, and collaborative approach, vital for NHS Trusts, local authorities, partners, and stakeholders. Identifying individuals at risk of falls early and providing targeted interventions can significantly reduce the incidence of falls and improve the quality of life for older individuals.

The interactive self-assessment tools are central to the platform’s offerings and allow users to identify their personal risk factors and create tailored action plans. This proactive approach enhances individual safety and supports NHS efforts to manage healthcare resources more effectively.

This launch follows the launch of our platform in Swindon last month and reinforces a shared commitment between Steady On Your Feet and the NHS to enhance community health services and reduce the impact of falls on public health systems. By centralising falls prevention resources and information, the platform ensures that older adults receive consistent, effective support to remain active and healthy.
