Steady On Your Feet drives change with record figures
< Back to News

It’s been a record-breaking quarter for Steady On Your Feet, with new regions rolling out our powerful online platform and more people than ever completing falls prevention self-assessments.

The milestone figures follow Falls Prevention Week, a week which saw significant activity and increased momentum and awareness raising nationwide. Across our seven localised Steady On Your Feet websites during falls week alone, over 800 people have started their self-assessment journey, with 530 of those now having their very own personal falls action plan. This is on top of nearly 16,500 visits and just short of 50,000 page views.

Across our national network, our platform has now facilitated over 5,000 and seen over 50,000 visitors accessing falls prevention, staying action and home safety information. We can also report, from those completing follow-up evaluations, that 76% of users know more about the major causes of falls, 71% are more aware of local falls prevention and support services, and 73% feel more confident about taking action against falls risks. In addition, over 53% of users have not experienced a fall since completing their personal action plan.

The numbers reflect our ongoing impact and our vision for people to be active, healthy and independent for longer. Our cutting-edge solution offers the advice and guidance that every person needs to live life with confidence and reassurance. And for NHS trusts and local authorities, it provides a centralised focal point for falls prevention that enhances resources, drives digital innovation and improves outcomes.

Chesire is the latest area to join the platform, expanding our reach into the North West.. Armed with a bespoke regional hub, the site integrates seamlessly with existing pathways and allows further collaboration between stakeholders. In the first week alone, their site saw more than 3000 visits and in excess of 140 completed self-assessments. Based on an estimated admission cost of £21,120, this means that even if only 10% of those who completed a self-assessment avoid a fall, the potential savings could total £295,000 from just the first seven days.

Managing Director of Steady On Your Feet, Mark Easby, said:

“On the back of new launches, long-term partnerships and Falls Prevention Week, it’s great to see our platform driving change and joining the national conversation around falls and healthy ageing.

“As well as empowering personal action and equipping people with the knowledge and resources to maintain their own mobility and independence, Steady On Your Feet is moving falls prevention further upstream and mitigating the need for specialist services.”

Alongside a customised website, comprehensive information library and content management tools, Steady On Your Feet has been strengthened by in-depth analytics and Power BI integration. This allows data to be captured and impact measured. It’s all part of a streamlined approach to falls prevention that offers a single point of access embedded in the community – identifying risk earlier, delivering personal interventions, and reducing the likelihood of falls.

The record-setting quarter adds to a groundbreaking 12 months for Steady On Your Feet, which has seen significant technical development, collaborations with staying active partners, and new sites for the likes of Hambleton & Richmondshire and Swindon.
