Our Steady On Your Feet Version 2 platform is now live across the UK

After 18 months of real-world impact, valuable client feedback, and in-depth user testing, we’re proud to launch Version 2 of Steady On Your Feet — a major update to the UK’s most widely adopted falls prevention platform.

From the very beginning, Steady On Your Feet has been about prevention with purpose. With over 8,500 online assessments, 5,000 action plans completed, and 40,000 unique users, we’ve seen firsthand how simple, accessible tools can help people understand their risks and take meaningful action to stay strong, steady, and independent for longer.

Now, with Version 2, we’re building on that success.

🚀 What’s New in Version 2?

Supporting better outcomes through smarter design

Version 2 introduces a cleaner, more accessible design that makes it easier for users to navigate and engage with content - especially on mobile devices and tablets. Clearer calls to action, improved layout, and a more intuitive experience help users browse the website and complete their self-assessment with confidence.

  • A clearer, more accessible website design
  • New imagery and positive ageing visuals from the Centre for Ageing Better
  • Stronger calls to action and improved mobile usability
  • A cleaner layout and improved content styling throughout
  • Clearer local signposting to support and access to services

A simpler, more engaging self-assessment experience

The self-assessment tool has been rebuilt to increase completion rates and user engagement. The updated design simplifies the user experience across all devices, improving the assessment flow with helpful prompts and tooltips along the way.

  • Fully redesigned with fewer steps and easier navigation
  • Helpful tooltips and guidance throughout
  • Improved email capture and follow-up opportunities
  • Seamless transition from assessment to action plan

Action plans that turn insight into action

To ensure users can act on their results, we’ve improved the structure of the personalised action plan. Each plan now separates ‘Practical Actions’ from ‘Daily Habits and Considerations’, making it easier for people to make small, sustained changes.

  • Clearer structure separating actions and habits
  • Additional guidance for each section
  • A new print-friendly layout for offline support
  • Encouraging more people to complete their plan and take action

Enhanced marketing toolkit for local teams

To support uptake across communities, Version 2 is launching with a refreshed Marketing Pack, designed to help regional teams promote the platform across health, social care and community settings.

  • Refreshed posters, leaflets, email banners and social media graphics
  • Updated regional branding, QR codes and messaging
  • Two core campaign themes: “Need help to stay steady and safe?” and “Concerned about falling?”
  • Designed to support awareness, referral and service integration

📊 The Results So Far

Since launch, Steady On Your Feet has already had a measurable impact across our regional websites:

  • 8,500+ online self-assessments completed
  • 5,000+ personalised action plans created
  • 40,000+ unique users across the UK
  • 110,000+ page views of our falls prevention library

And more importantly, it’s helping people feel more confident and in control:

  • 77% of users say they now know more about the causes of falls
  • 75% say they feel more confident about taking action
  • 65% are more aware of local support
  • 73% of users have not experienced a fall since completing their action plan

💬 What Our Clients Are Saying

“Our Steady On Your Feet website is at the heart of our integrated pathway. This service redesign showed the importance of collaborative working with a wide range of services and organisations to ensure an all-encompassing strategy. Older people now have greater access to falls prevention resources across the area to suit their own needs. This is ensuring the specialist falls team now sees only those with the most complex falls history.”
