Steady On Your Feet wins prestigious innovation award

We are thrilled to announce that Steady On Your Feet, developed by Better, has been awarded the Innovation Award at the Tees Business Tech Awards 2024. 

The awards, launched in 2020 by Tees Business Magazine, the leading business publication in the Tees Valley, celebrate the very best in the Tees region’s thriving tech and digital sector. The Innovation Award spotlights those who have introduced cutting-edge products or services, achieved breakthroughs, or advanced their field through inventive successes. 

At the forefront of Better’s product innovation offer is Steady On Your Feet, a pioneering platform-as-a-service (PAAS) product. Steady On Your Feet is revolutionising falls prevention through streamlining the delivery of fall prevention strategies and provides a comprehensive suite of tools and resources to empower individuals and healthcare providers through an intuitive online hub providing older adults with immediate access to a wealth of self-care tools and resources.

Steady On Your Feet was designed in close partnership with clinical experts to align seamlessly with established fall prevention strategies, ensuring clinical relevance and efficacy. This strategic alignment with NHS and Local Authorities' needs not only streamlines fall prevention efforts but also contributes to substantial healthcare savings, with falls resulting in about 76,000 hip fractures annually, costing the medical sector over £2 billion.

Through Steady On Your Feet, Better demonstrates its leadership in digital innovation within the healthcare sector and showcases its commitment to driving positive change. By revolutionising fall prevention strategies and promoting active, healthy living, Better significantly impacts the well-being of communities across the UK.

Since the start of 2023, Steady On Your Feet has seen significant growth, marked by the launch of six live platforms with key healthcare and governmental partners: South Tees NHS Trust, Northampton County Council,  Cheshire Integrated Care Board, Swindon County Council, Devon Integrated Care Board, and Cambridge and Peterborough Borough Councils. 

During this time, we have also forged commercial partnerships with prominent falls prevention and healthy ageing organisations, such as Move it or Lose it and We Are Undefeatable. These collaborations enrich the platform's specialist content library and resources promoting active living among the elderly.
